Strength Through Shred @ It Take's a Village Skatepark
July 8th we kick off our FREE summer skate program "Strength Through Shred"!

We will be at @theshepherddetroit "It Take's a Village" skatepark every Wednesday and Friday
throughout July from Noon-1pm.
Boards and gear provided. Limited capacity, so sign up soon!
This program offers a supportive space for youth to build confidence, learn new skateboarding skills, and explore mental and physical well-being through movement. It centers marginalized communities and aims to increase access to both sport and mental health resources.
Our primary goal for this project is to enhance the mental well-being of Detroit's youth through the transformative power of skateboarding.

Looking for a fun way to give back? Join us at Kendra Scott @ Twelve Oaks Novi. June 13th from 1pm-4pm enjoy sips, sweets, and custom jewelry as you shop for our cause! 20% of all proceeds this day will go directly to supporting our mission and programs at @apositiveseed @michigangirlsshred
Kendra Scott started her company designing jewelry in her spare bedroom with $500 and a dream. From the start, her mantra was “family, fashion, philanthropy,” and as their brand has grown, they continue to hold philanthropy as one of their core values.
We will be set up with some giveaways and resources and talking to people about the world of skateboarding, mental health, our Michigan Girls Shred Sessions, and free skate programs

Michigan Girls Shred Winter Sessions 25'/26'
We’re back indoors at Modern Skate Park! Join us for the shred and beat the winter blues with some skating and friends every first Sunday of the month from 10am-Noon for Michigan Girls Shred sessions.
A great place to progress, make friends, and have a good time for all ages and abilities! All wheels welcome.
Session cost is $10 for open skate, add an additional $5 for an optional skateboard group lesson during the first half!

Detroit Riverfront Youth Sports Showcase (Aug 16th 11am-2pm)
Join us August 16th at The Detroit Youth Sports Showcase! The Detroit Youth Sports Showcase is a free opportunity for youth to try out a variety of sports and outdoor physical activities with partners from across the city. Participants will explore stations throughout Cullen Plaza and Milliken State Park including basketball, tennis, soccer, chess, and more, as well as group fitness classes and demonstrations. Drop in anytime between 11am and 2pm!
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to fill up on-site and wear athletic apparel and closed toed shoes. Free parking is available in the River East Garage at 1000 Franklin Street, Detroit MI 48207. Food will be available for purchase on-site.
Participants can receive free Detroit Tigers tickets while supplies last, alongside other giveaways and back to school resources.
All programming is rain or shine!
Strength Through Shred Free Skateboarding Program! ( July 9th- Aug 1st)
Strength Through Shred program is a 4 week skateboarding program for girls ages 9-17 that focuses on creating positive outlets through sport, providing accessibility, and raising awareness about mental and physical well-being. It prioritizes marginalized groups in areas where skateboarding and mental health resources may not be readily available.
Through our program, we facilitate a structured gathering where participants engage in warm-up activities, stretching exercises, and positive thought provoking introductions. Our dedicated instructors impart skateboarding techniques and guide participants in acquiring new skills throughout the program.
Our primary goal for this project is to enhance the mental well-being of Detroit's youth through the transformative power of skateboarding.

Let’s keep it rolling! Join us for our upcoming @michigangirlsshred meet-ups. Sunday May 11th, at Riley Skatepark in Farmington there will be art supplies available for use for some Mother’s Day crafts
Note: there will be no formal instruction. Tips and help will still be available for beginners throughout the meet up though!
